Oberlin College Class Visits

Oberlin College Class Visits

Please use this faculty request form to schedule all self-guided and co-facilitated visits to the Allen Memorial Art Museum.

For faculty members who would like to collaborate with the Academic Programs department on planning and executing a visit, this form also serves as a preliminary brainstorming sheet for how object-based learning can benefit your course.

Please submit this form:

  • at least two weeks before the intended date of your Self-Guided Visit to the galleries
  • at least three weeks before the intended date of your Self-Guided Visit that includes a Print Study Room component
  • at least one month before the intended date of your Co-Facilitated Visit (galleries or PSR)

Requests will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your request has been reviewed, you will receive a confirmation email within three business days with the date and time of your visit.

If you indicate that you would like to work with the Academic Programs department to develop the goals and scope of your visit, we will be in touch to arrange a meeting time.

We look forward to welcoming you and your students to the museum!

I will

Me, in conversation with an AMAM staff member

Mostly AMAM staff, but I will chime in

I'm not sure. Can we discuss?

I will browse eMuseum, the AMAM online database.

I'd like to meet AMAM staff to look at and discuss options.

I'd like to use my object list from the last time I brought this course to the Museum.

Learning goals for your visit

These questions help us to advise you on how to best make use of your time in the museum and to suggest objects that might resonate with the issues/themes/questions your course explores.

Do you have specific goals for the visit? If so, please specify.

Will you connect your museum session to a class assignment? If so, what is the goal of the assignment? (It's okay to have a vague answer at this point!)

Anything else we should know about this visit?
