Drawn entirely from the AMAM's important permanent collection, this exhibition highlights major postwar practices in modern and contemporary art, including Abstract Expressionism, Pop, Minimalism and Conceptual Art, as well as a wide selection of new work in a variety of media.
On view are paintings, sculpture, drawings and prints by Chuck Close, Jim Dine, Willem de Kooning, Eva Hesse, Agnes Martin, Claes Oldenburg, Kiki Smith, Frank Stella and Andy Warhol, among others. The exhibition includes an important recent acquisition, Kiki Smith's Banshee Pearls (1991), generously given to the AMAM by Dr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Ross.
