Baroque Maximalism in Art and Music

Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of 17th-century violin sonatas performed by Oberlin Conservatory students in dialogue with the exhibition Baroque Maximalism in Art and Music. Featuring music by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber and his contemporaries, the program explores a shared aesthetic of intensity, contrast, and expressive excess in musical and visual rhetoric. Performers include Boaz Mecham (OC 2027) and Aaron Mecham (OC 2027) on violins, with Gabe Roth on violin, Zackery Price (OC 2027) on cello, and Jon Bolena on harpsichord.
