Over the past three decades, video has been a cornerstone of contemporary art, challenging museums to develop new methods for digital conservation, storage, and display. In this presentation, the Allen’s curator of modern and contemporary art Sam Adams and their student assistant Dlisah Lapidus will share their trials and tribulations overhauling and streamlining the way the Allen stewards its collection of video art from the 1970s to the present.
Registration for this free event is encouraged but not required to attend.
Access Statement:
This event will be held in a wheelchair- and rolling walker-accessible building. The lecture space is wheelchair accessible, with moveable seating. Restrooms are gender-specific and wheelchair-accessible. Listening devices and ASL are currently not scheduled for this event.
