Curator Tour of Femme ’n isms, Part I: Bodies Are Fluid

Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 12:15 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Join us for a curator-led tour with Sam Adams, Ellen Johnson ’33 Assistant Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Allen Memorial Art Museum. Bodies Are Fluid reflects a reassessment of feminist artmaking with a commitment to learning from intersectional femininities that are nonwhite and non-cis-heteronomative.

Betye Saar (American, b. 1926), Untitled, 1971. Watercolor and gouache on paper. Allen Memorial Art Museum, Gift of the Louis and Annette Kaufman Trust, 2016.36.33.
Image description: This whimsical watercolor shows a disembodied mouth with a tongue sticking out, floating in the water alongside two detached breasts. A wavy rainbow borders this scene, with a single watchful eye above.
