Schedule an In-School Visit

If you can’t bring your students to the museum, we can bring the museum to your classroom! Schedule a Suitcase Tour and the Education Department will bring a variety of smaller objects for your students to explore.

All objects relate to our permanent collection and entice students to visit with their families. With support from, the Freeman Foundation, we’ve developed several units and lesson plans related to Asian objects from the collection.

Request an Art Suitcase

Traveling suitcases containing hands-on materials bring the museum’s Asian art collection to life and create a tangible learning experience in the classroom for all subjects and learning levels!

Museum educators will travel to your school and lead up to a 1-hour presentation around the contents of the suitcase. Presentations can be designed to complement your current unit or curriculum, and adjusted to meet your class time.

Suitcase visits are free to all Lorain County public schools thanks to a Freeman Asian Arts & Culture Initiative grant from the Freeman Foundation. Visits must be registered at least 14 days in advance.
