Omar Object Talks

Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Join student gallery guides for an opportunity to connect music and performance with the visual arts. Audie Wilson (OC 2026) and Anka Chiorini (OC 2027) will lead discussions of works from the museum's collection that were used to inform the Oberlin production of Omar, as these works relate to the opera's themes of pan-African and Arab identity, translation, enslavement, and resilience.

These 20-minute conversational object talks will be held at 11 am and 1 pm on a first-come first-served basis in the Print Study Room on the second floor of the museum. The artworks will be on view for the remainder of each hour if the talks reach capacity.
