Art conservators combine art history and science to study, preserve, and restore art and cultural heritage objects. Nicole Passerotti ’03, objects conservator and program associate for Andrew W. Mellon Opportunity for Diversity in Conservation at UCLA/Getty Interdepartmental Program in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, discusses current shifts in priorities and values in the field, and the privilege of conserving physical objects and the stories they tell.

This free program will be held in the King Sculpture Court.

You may also watch the event on Zoom. Please note: the Zoom link will not be live until the event begins.

Artist Claus Oldenburg leans against his Giant Three-Way Plug. The outdoor sculpture has undergone conservation since it was first installed in the 1970s.
